How Adaptive Streaming Stops Video Buffering on Mobile Data

Nothing ruins a video faster than an endless buffering spinner.

When your viewers are on a train or on congested mobile data, internet speeds go up and down. Adaptive Streaming (like HLS) fixes this by automatically adjusting video quality on the fly.

How It Works in 3 Steps

  1. Multiple Quality Options: Videos are prepared in multiple resolutions (1080p, 720p, 480p, 360p) and sliced into short segments.
  2. Speed Detection: The video player continuously measures the viewer's current connection speed.
  3. Smooth Switching: If the connection slows down, the player switches down to 480p without stopping the video. When the connection improves, it switches right back up to crystal-clear 1080p.
